- the car runs well - Good to know - I'll have to check the coolant for oil - i do have smoke sometimes when i come off of boost - 'they' might have just skipped 5 and 6th cylinders to save time. and the other 'they' did not perform the 120k because i'd rather put the parts on a rebuilt motor than one that's got low compression. If this problem DID happen since the inspection, then it obviously isn't going to get better, IE doing a 120k is just going to be a waste of time since the motor is obviously on its way out. So instead of wasting more money and time on a dying motor i'm going to get a rebuilt stage1 longblock.I understand things happen due to age, i'm not accusing anyone i'm just trying to get this out there to get opinions, hence why i didn't name the shop and start bashing them publicly. I tried my best to avoid a headache. Truthfully it's not the end of the world. Better than me upgrading and doing the timing job and all that and having the motor die on me in a year. However, its still more money than i wanted to spend on the car within a month of purchasing it. The car idle's fine. I have noticed an elevated idle once in a while, but its only on start up as if it was a cold start and the idle's were just higher anyway, then it comes down and stays at like 1k.
